Fly at sunrise, when the valley is quiet and the light is soft. Your balloon lifts off before the heat of the day and drifts slowly over the limestone karsts, the Nam Song river and the patchwork of villages below. Flights last about 40-45 minutes, and the whole morning (pickup, safety briefing, flight, and a small celebration on landing) takes around two and a half hours. Wear closed shoes and light layers.
